The Indiana and Ohio Rail System (IORY), owned by RailAmerica, purchased the Detroit, Toledo and Ironton Railroad from the Grand Trunk Western, a CN subsidiary, in February 1997. This line consists of 455 miles of track running from Diann, Michigan to Cincinnati, Ohio.
The IORY interchanges with CN at Flat Rock Yard in Detroit and with CSX Transportation Inc. (CSXT) and Norfolk Southern Railway Co. (NS) at Cincinnati. In addition, it connects with Ann Arbor Railroad (AA) at Diann, MI; Adrian & Blissfield (ADBF) at Riga, MI; Central Railroad of Indiana (CIND) at Cincinnati, OH; CSXT at Hamler, Columbus, OH ; NS at Lima, Springfield and Monroe, OH; Wheeling & Erie Railway (WLE) at Lima, OH. The IORY also has a number of transload facilities that provide access from / to the Ohio River in the Cincinnati area.
